Our Bodies Are Weird

Surrounding the theme of identity, 3rd and 7th grade students considered the strangeness of our physical features. They created collages using photos of body parts to make inventive mythical creatures onto chosen backgrounds. The lesson began with a discussion about the wonder of human bodies through examining the work of artists like, Hannah Höch, René Magritte, and Erwin Worm. Below are examples of student work.
