DOT DAY

Inspired by the book The Dot written by Peter H. Reynolds, Kindergarten and first graders made their own daring dots! The main character of the book, Vashti, is a young artist with creative insecurity who blossoms into a brave artist through daring to make a  mark. Students created mixed media dots based on their own original designs using oil pastels, colored pencils, watercolors, markers, and water-colored pencils. Students showcased their ability to layer color and texture, how to manipulate materials, and the beauty of their bold creative impulses
